Types of permits:
General permits are required for such projects as residential re-roofing, re-siding, same-size window replacements, and signs that don’t require footing installation. These over-the-counter permits can be issued the same day, however, please check with the City to see if any additional information will be required.
An administrative permit is needed for fences and accessory sheds under 200 square feet. They also require a site survey or the ability to locate your property pins at the time of inspection.
Building permits are required for a number of different residential and commercial improvement and construction projects. These permits require plan review by the Building Official and the fee is based on the value of the material and labor for the project. Depending on the complexity of the plan review, building permits generally take a week to ten days for processing.

- Any type of commercial work
- New construction
