The Red Cross swimming lessons are divided into several levels, each focusing on different skills and competencies. Here’s a breakdown of the levels for you to best determine the appropriate level for your child:
- Level 1: Introduction to Water Skills
- Focus: Helps students feel comfortable in the water and teaches basic water safety skills.
- Level 2: Fundamentals of Aquatic Skills
- Focus: Introduces basic swimming skills, helping participants gain greater independence in the water.
- Level 3: Stroke Development
- Focus: Students practice swimming strokes and gain basic swimming propulsion skills.
- Level 4: Stroke Improvement
- Focus: Enhances students' confidence and improves their strokes, introducing more complex aquatic skills.
- Level 5: Stroke Refinement
- Focus: Refines strokes for efficiency and introduces more advanced swimming techniques.
- Level 6: Swimming and Skill Proficiency
- Focus: Provides options for advanced skills, preparing participants for competitive swimming or lifeguarding courses. This level includes a menu of options to cater to individual interests and goals.
