Hwy 212 Project – Benton Township: Purpose & Need NotificationCarver County, in partnership with Benton Township, the Cities of Norwood Young America, Cologne and MnDOT, are asking for the public’s feedback on a draft purpose and need statement and draft evaluation criteria. The draft purpose and need statement and draft evaluation criteria have been prepared as part of the environmental review process and will be used as guides to evaluate alternatives and eventually identify a preferred option for the corridor. The County welcomes public feedback on the proposed Hwy 212 Benton Township Project. Please review and comment by February 7, 2022. Project partners are working together to identify and implement transportation system improvements to Highway 212. The overall objective of the project includes approximately 5-miles of safety and capacity improvements along Highway 212 between Highway 34 on east side of the City of Norwood Young America to Highway 36 on the west side of the City of Cologne.
