Watering Restrictions

There is a city-wide watering ban.
NO WATERING ALLOWED BETWEEN 10 am – 5 pm.

Watering will be permitted on an odd/even schedule from 5 pm to 10 am.

Sprinkling Ban Violations are:
1st offense – warning
2nd offense – $50.00
3rd offense – $100.00
4th offense – $200.00
Each additional offense – $200.00

Restrictions will be in effect until further notice.

Grass Clippings

DO NOT blow your grass clippings onto the street.

The clippings cause the storm sewer to clog, which may cause flooding in your home or your neightbor’s home.

Park Bench Program

The Park & Recreation Commission along with the City Council established this program to give our community members the unique opportunity to honor a special oaccasion or memory. A dedication may be appropriate in honor of a birthday, anniversary or in memory of a loved one, or for any other special occasion.

Your generous gift will be recognized and appreciated. Should you choose to identify your donation, the bench may be engraved or a plaque may be purchased.

Community Garden Plots Now Available!

It is that time of year, time to gear up for the gardening season! The City of Norwood Young America still has garden plots available for lease. We require a $25.00 deposit check plus a $10.00 (per plot) watering check payable to the City of NYA.

The community gardens could not have been possible without the help of the Central High School building construction class that built 16 of the 24 gardens along with the garden shed on the site. Funding for the building material was acquired through a SHIP (Statewide Health Improvement Program) grant. The Lions and West Carver Lions also donated 8 fruit trees and 2 shade trees to plant at the site.

Open 24 hours

As a result of this new location the City will no longer be chipping brush at the curb side.
